# Catwifhat Intro

A short introduction of $CWIF, the biggest auto-burn project and most distributed memecoin to ever exist on Solana.

## About $CWIF

The Catwifhat community is on a mission to bring deflationary token economics to the world of memecoins! Solana introduced its auto-burn feature for projects in 2023, and shortly afterward, $CWIF was introduced to the Solana meme scene. Since Catwifhat’s introduction in December 2023, it has become the longest-standing auto-burn meme on the Solana blockchain.

## About The Burn

$CWIF’s auto-burn involves a 4% burn fee applied to every on-chain transaction. This means every DEX buy, every DEX sell, and every wallet transfer experiences a 4% tax. The auto-burn feature was created as a deflationary measure to reduce the supply of $CWIF over time.

While many cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Solana increase their supplies over time to reward block production and validation, $CWIF’s auto-burn mechanism reduces the supply as more transactions occur. As a result, each holder's percentage of the circulating supply increases over time with every on-chain transaction.

As Solana gained a reputation in 2024 for having some of the highest DEX volumes, the Catwifhat community holds on proudly to their $CWIF, knowing that 4% continues to burn from every single DEX swap and wallet transfer. Since all contract authorities were revoked on day one of the project, the burn will continue eternally as long as the Solana blockchain operates, ensuring a truly decentralized and immutable deflationary mechanism.

# Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

As the biggest auto-burn project on the Solana blockchain, there are undoubtedly many questions that commonly come up about $CWIF. Catch up on this page about the most frequent questions.

## Is $CWIF's liquidity locked?

Yes, $CWIF’s main liquidity pools have been permanently locked. You can verify the locked status on both Solsniffer and Rugcheck.

Solsniffer: <https://solsniffer.com/scanner/7atgF8KQo4wJrD5ATGX7t1V2zVvykPJbFfNeVf1icFv1?view=mostScanned>

Rugcheck: <https://rugcheck.xyz/tokens/7atgF8KQo4wJrD5ATGX7t1V2zVvykPJbFfNeVf1icFv1>

## Where can I see the burn wallet?

$CWIF uses Solana Token Extensions for its unique 4% burn per transaction. Token Extensions do not utilize a single burn wallet. Instead, every wallet that has interacted with $CWIF has a token account with the $CWIF taken out of circulation.

Learn more about Token Extensions [in the Wiki](https://catwifhat.gitbook.io/wiki/token-extensions/token-extensions-intro) or on Solana's official Token Extensions [developer documentation](https://solana.com/developers/guides/token-extensions/transfer-fee).<br>

## Why is the Max Supply 1,000 trillion?

The Max Supply of $CWIF is 1,000 trillion. This is the very beginning supply for $CWIF before any burns. Some more details:

* The initial Contract Address for catwifhat, $CWIFv0, had a 77.78 trillion max supply (without any reason behind it).
* When the final $CWIF Contract Address was created, a 999.99 trillion max supply was introduced to mimic $WIF’s 999.99 million max supply.
* Immediately upon the finalized $CWIF’s contract creation, 920+ trillion $CWIF was permanently burned (using Token Extensions transfers) to get back to an initial 77.78 trillion circulating supply.

The more important number to the project rather than the Max Supply is the remaining supply, also known as the Total Supply. The Total Supply figure on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap shows the $CWIF supply after Token Extension burns.

CoinGecko:\
<https://catwifhatsolana.com/coingecko>

CoinMarketCap:\
<https://catwifhatsolana.com/coinmarketcap>

## Has all 1,000 trillion of the Max Supply been released, or is there any vesting?

All tokens were released at the start of the contract. The supply can only be burned since day 1 ✅.

Since all $CWIF was released day 1, there is no vesting for $CWIF.

Additionally there is no mint authority for $CWIF.&#x20;

These factors combined mean that the circulating supply can only go down over time.

## Is it possible to predict $CWIF's future supply?

Because $CWIF burns depend on DEX volume, including both DEX buys and DEX sells, as well as wallet transfers, it is not possible to predict future $CWIF burns. Average burn rates are not an indicator of future burns, and the burn is subject to change based on DEX volume.

## How much of $CWIF's supply has been burned?

Of the original 77.78 trillion $CWIF supply, over 55% has been auto-burned. See the latest figure on the catwifhat website: [https://catwifhatsolana.com/burn-tracking](https://catwifhatsolana.com/burn-tracking/).

# Burn Statistics

Learn where to see more about the latest $CWIF auto-burn statistics.

$CWIF's 4% auto-burn per on-chain transaction was introduced as a deflationary mechanism right from the contract's creation. This innovative feature ensures that with every DEX swap and wallet transfer, 4% of the transaction amount is permanently removed from the total supply.

Of the original 77.78 trillion $CWIF supply, over 55% has already been auto-burned, reducing the circulating supply and increasing the scarcity of the remaining tokens.

Stay updated with the latest burn statistics and track the ongoing reduction in $CWIF supply on the Catwifhat website: [https://catwifhatsolana.com/burn-tracking](https://catwifhatsolana.com/burn-tracking/).

**Disclaimer:** Burn metrics for $CWIF are based on past DEX volume and wallet transfers. Burns cannot be predicted for the future, and past burns should not be taken as any expectation of future burns. All burns come at the cost of a 4% burn fee to the user on every wallet transfer.

# Centralized Exchanges (CEXes)

A variety of centralized exchanges (CEXes) have listed $CWIF.

Make sure to double check verified links on [CoinMarketCap](https://catwifhatsolana.com/coinmarketcap) or [CoinGecko](https://catwifhatsolana.com/coingecko) before trading $CWIF on an exchange.&#x20;

## Burns on CEX Trading

There is typically no 4% burn fee while buying and selling $CWIF on a CEX. This is because the CEX usually keeps the $CWIF in one wallet (their spot wallet) during the trade. However, centralized exchanges may have their own individual policies, so it is always best to check with the exchange's policies.

## Burns on CEX Deposits and Withdrawals

Typically, there are three 4% burns when completing a CEX deposit and CEX withdrawal of $CWIF on a CEX.&#x20;

The typical burn fees for $CWIF on most CEXes include a 4% burn fee for deposit, a second 4% burn fee for transfer to the spot wallet, and a third 4% burn fee on withdrawal.&#x20;

Some CEXes might have different policies, such as a double burn fee (two 4% burns) on withdrawals. It is essential to do your own research on an exchange's individual policies before depositing or withdrawing $CWIF so that you know what fees to expect.

## Important Considerations

* **Research**: Always do research on the policies of a centralized exchange you use.
* **Security Risks**: Using centralized exchanges can present extra security risks, as the funds on an exchange are never fully yours until you withdraw them.

# CWIF Token Economics

Learn more about $CWIF's 4% auto-burn per on-chain transaction.

$CWIF employs Solana Token Extensions for a unique 4% auto-burn per on-chain transaction. This mechanism was built into the start of the contract to reduce the supply of Catwifhat $CWIF over time.

$CWIF's decentralized approach to burning tokens ensures a consistent 4% reduction from every on-chain transaction, with no authority behind the burn. This means that every DEX buy, DEX sell, and wallet transfer experiences a 4% fee, taken out from $CWIF's circulation forever. Unlike traditional methods that utilize a single burn wallet, $CWIF's burn mechanism keeps the burned tokens across all wallets that interact with $CWIF.

The burn methodology leverages Solana Token Extensions' advanced capabilities to create an efficient and transparent burn process, reinforcing the token’s decentralized and deflationary nature. This 4% fee mechanism is designed to gradually increase each holder's percentage of the circulating supply owned as more transactions take place.

**Disclaimer:** All burns come at the cost of a 4% burn fee to the user on every wallet transfer, and the deflationary nature of $CWIF does not mean that its price will rise.

# Token Extensions Intro

Token Extensions are the basis for Catwifhat $CWIF's 4% auto-burn for every on-chain (wallet-to-wallet) transaction.

Token Extensions on Solana enable advanced functionalities for digital assets, providing features such as confidential transfers, permanent delegation, required metadata, transfer hooks, and transfer fees.&#x20;

These extensions are designed for enterprise-grade use cases, allowing developers to create stablecoins and simplify payments with native metadata. They support privacy preservation while ensuring regulatory compliance and offer backwards compatibility with existing Solana tokens (although dApps may need updates). Audited for security, these extensions facilitate the creation of rich, programmable assets on the Solana blockchain.

For full details, visit [Solana Token Extensions](https://solana.com/solutions/token-extensions).

# Transfer Fee Extension

Catwifhat ($CWIF) utilizes Solana's "Transfer Fee" Token Extension to implement its 4% auto-burn mechanism. This feature is a key aspect of $CWIF’s deflationary design, ensuring that with every on-chain transaction, a portion of the tokens is permanently removed from the total supply.

The "Transfer Fee" extension on Solana allows for the configuration of fees on token transfers at the protocol level. Here’s a summary of how it works and its main components:

1. **Fee Configuration:** For every on-chain transaction involving $CWIF, a 4% fee is automatically applied. This fee is set at the protocol level using Solana's Transfer Fee extension, which allows for precise fee configuration. See this fee in $CWIF's Extensions data [on Solscan](https://solscan.io/token/7atgF8KQo4wJrD5ATGX7t1V2zVvykPJbFfNeVf1icFv1#extensions).
2. **Fee Collection and Burn:** When $CWIF tokens are transferred, the 4% fee is deducted from the transaction amount. The fee is automatically deducted and withheld in the recipient's token account, out of circulation forever.
3. **Withdraw Authority**: The Token Extension "Withdraw Authority" can typically collect withheld transfer fees from recipient accounts. Since $CWIF does not have a Withdraw Authority, the 4% transfer fee is taken out of circulation forever. Verify that $CWIF has no Withdraw Authority [on Solscan](https://solscan.io/token/7atgF8KQo4wJrD5ATGX7t1V2zVvykPJbFfNeVf1icFv1#extensions).

The Transfer Fee system is designed to handle fees efficiently, ensuring scalability and compliance with token economics on the Solana blockchain. For the full information on the "Transfer Fee" extension, you can refer to the Solana documentation [here](https://solana.com/solutions/token-extensions).
